Sounds good to me.

Let's face it - the most consistent older horses in the country last year were the turfers. I'm glad the voters found a way to honor both of them. And didn't Gio Ponti get top older male after a turf campaign with one good AW performance a couple of years ago?

Ann F.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6494042975644008281.post-31200064999780034802012-01-19T11:58:33.335-05:002012-01-19T11:58:33.335-05:00I don't blame the voters, I blame a lackluster...I don't blame the voters, I blame a lackluster year. His courage, durability and heart were unmatched not only in 2011 but possibly ever. What he did in terms of exposure for racing in the US this year was unmatched. He, if I had a vote, would have been my HOY.Adrian.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6494042975644008281.post-12528419783269093882012-01-19T09:02:35.109-05:002012-01-19T09:02:35.109-05:00You voted for Tizway for HOY and you are complaini...You voted for Tizway for HOY and you are complaining about how other people voted? Seriously? What is wrong with Acclamation? He won 3 G1s to Tizway's 2. He won on 2 different surfaces. He also won 2 G2s. It is fine if you want to vote for Tizway with his whopping 2 victories, but do not act like others are crazy for voting for a horse who accomplished more at the highest level and set a track record in the Pacific Classic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6494042975644008281.post-21026511485919279742012-01-19T03:44:30.946-05:002012-01-19T03:44:30.946-05:00Alan, as a fellow Eclipse voter I feel your pain -...Alan, as a fellow Eclipse voter I feel your pain - I voted for Caleb's Posse for top spot on 2 categories, and I also voted for Tizway for champion and, in fact, for Horse of the Year; great as her campaign was, Havre de Grace was 4th to Drosselmeyer in the BC Classic. Amazing to have 3 straight filliex/mares as H o Y - not a good advertisement for American racing, I'm afraid. But those wacky votes? This is democracy, or what passes for it in Eclipse voting. Did you notice some of the Republican candidates for President? It's Bill O. here.Bill Oppenheimnoreply@blogger.com
